Puerto Rican Beans and Rice
Puerto Rican flavors in a classic meal. The recaito is essential but don’t mix it up with the Sofrito sold in grocery stores as that’s likely the kind that has Sazon in it already (which isn’t proper).

Ingredients

arrow_right Medium Grain Rice
 arrow_right Recaito (Green Glass Jar)
 arrow_right Sazon
 arrow_right Green Olives W/ Pimientos
 arrow_right Adobo
 arrow_right Black Pepper
 arrow_right Olive Oil
 arrow_right Garlic, 1 clove
 arrow_right Goya Habichuelas Rojas (pink beans)

Cooking Instructions

Preparation
 Mince garlic
 
 Mix: garlic, 1 Tbls recaito, Oregano in pan and sautee for a few minutes.
 Stir in in tomato paste, adobo, and ½ packet of Sazon.
 Add beans and green olives.
 Fill bean can with water and stir that in.
 A few splashes of hot sauce.
 Black pepper to taste.
 Turn down and let it simmer 15-30 minutes.
 
 Serving
 Serve over rice.
